Clothes.com $4,900,000 SOLD

amazon.comがオンライン小売業のZapposを株式交換という形で買収しました。
そのzapposが実はClothes.comをドメイン売買していたようです。金額は490万ドル、日本円で約4.7億円との事です

ドメイン売買は2008年に行なわれたようですが、それにしても4.7億円というのは・・・

The online shoe retailer bought the domain name from IdeaLab in 2008.
“In May 2008, we acquired the Clothes.com internet domain name from Idealab. The domain name was recognized as a purchased intangible asset with a useful life of 20 years. The entire purchase price of $4.9 million was assigned to the price of the domain name intangible asset and will be amortized on a straight-line basis over its remaining estimated useful life.”

うろ覚えですが490万ドルというのは2008年では2番目の高額ドメイン売買のような気がします。
1位はFund.com $9,999,950 (約9.7億円)、3位はyp.comで$3,850,000 (約3.7億円)だと思います。
2008年は1億円を超える高額ドメインが多数ドメイン売買されています。凄いですよね。
Clothes.comがどういう風に成長するのか、今後に注目ですね！

♯渋谷になかなかの豪邸買えますね。.comなんてお名前.comだと900円程度でドメイン取得出来る訳です。
同じドメインでもこうも違うわけです・・・そう考えると恐ろしいですね・・・
