Flicker.comがYahoo!へ

Flickrは日本語に対応していないのですが、
それでも日本人ユーザーの多いWeb2.0系サービスです。
wordpress利用者にも人気がありますよね。
しかし、正式な英語表記はFlickerになるとの事ですが、
この度ようやくFlicker.comがYahoo!のものになったそうです。

As Michael Berkens pointed out today, Yahoo now owns the domain name Flicker.com.
But this wasn’t your typical domain name sale. It was actually the culmination of year long anti-cybersquatting lawsuit brought against the Flicker.com owner AshantiPLC, which is owned in part by domain investor Sahar Sarid.

まず驚いたのが70万ドルの申し出を断っていたとか！
ドメイン自体はeBay経由で2006年に$55,000でドメイン売買したらしいですが、
70万ドルの申し出を断るというのは凄まじいですね。
結局、Yahoo!のものになった事を認めたとの事ですがどういう経緯だったのか、
また金額などはどうだったのかがとても気になるところですね。
